PERSONAL TRAINER

Technical Description

Provides a comprehensive one-on-one educational fitness program for members to assist them in achieving their health and fitness objectives through realistic goal setting and education
Produces independent exercisers by providing in-depth information on equipment usage, lifestyle management, and ultimately, how to design a personal fitness program
Tracks individual client paperwork
Attends all in-service training and meetings
Accurately records client training sessions for payment purposes
Communicates client program progress and/or problems to Spa Director
Conducts Personal Training sessions under the policies and guidelines established by Spa Chakra
Successfully completes and updates CPR and first aid training
Maintains Personal Training certification through continuing education
Reviews risk management and emergency procedures established by Spa Chakra
Participates in training of other employees
Represents Spa Chakra during wellness programs on an as-needed basis
Performs other promotional club-related duties as assigned by Spa Director

A bachelor's degree in a sport and fitness-related field
Preferred certification from a recognized provider in a sport and fitness-related field
Trainers without degree or certification must acquire certification within six months of date of hire
Dependent upon experience, some candidates may also need to successfully complete a practical exam with Spa Director
